A Very Special Thanks To Joshua P Warren

Blue Ridge Paranormal would like to thank Joshua P. Warren for allowing us to investigate and do a live EVP experiment inside his Old Jail and Museum. We did a live broadcast via cellphone to his popular radio show, Speaking Of Strange. He asked the questions on air and we attempted to record any replies while using a continuously scanning radio set to the am band that was playing in the background. Mr. Warrens own voice was being used as snippets of audio just as some would use white noise as a background in trying to capture EVP. The scanning radio is often called (The Ghost Box)For more information on this technique, click on our Ghost Box Recordings Link. The findings of this experiment should be released within the next few weeks. Also, we wish to thank Mr.Warren for including Richard Liebecks remarkable photo of what appears to be a full body apparition  of a  civil war soldier taken in Gettysburg in 2007 in his latest book, Ghosts,Spirits & Hauntings.

Recently, we have been hearing alot of talk about people getting amazing results with an ordinary am/fm radio hacked to continuously scan either band without stopping on any station.

At first glance, I thought this was nothing more than wishful thinking by the operators hearing just bits and pieces of random audio. So, I figured "What the heck" I'll hack one and try  it for myself. I started by purchasing a digital scanning am/fm radio and modifying to continuously scan the frequencies without stopping. The theory is that as the radio scans, it will produce white noise allowing the voices of whatever is wanting to speak to come thru. You could basically say its evp in real time. I took this device to a meeting with Blue Ridge Paranormal, needless to say, everyone including myself were very skeptical. But we always approach any new idea with an open mind. We proceeded to listen to the audio and some of the group asked questions and heard what seemed to be a reply, the jury was still out on this device. About three in the morning, I had an urge to see if we could get a specific answer in the form of a name. I said what did they call Charles Hardin Holly? What happened next I have no logical answer to, a clear and distinct voice came over the speakers and said "Buddy Holly"

This is an ongoing  project for us and needs much more research. We also recorded foul language that I know was not being said on the radio.

We would like to thank Barbara for allowing us to investigate the upper cabin at Cold Hollow NC. She stayed with us for 12 long hours. We would also like to thank Joshua and Krystal for helping and trying so hard to make this a great case. We have alot of evidence still to go through, we will be posting it as soon as possible.

Infrared Still Photograhy

Everyone who has a nightvision capable camcorder knows that if you take it out in direct sunlight that the screen just goes white. Recently Blue Ridge Paranormal has been testing the idea of using an infrared filter to block out all of the visable light to allow your camera to work in nightvision during the daylight. Even a still camera without nightvision is capable of taking infrared photos, this was proved by Richard Liebeck in 2007 on a trip to Gettysburg PA.

He used a digital Kodak camera with a Hoya R-72 infrared filter and captured a photo on Triangular Field of what appears to be a civil war soldier in period clothing. On most digital cameras the photo will appear a deep purple color, you must take the photo and open it up with a photo editing program and transform the photo to grayscale, and if your program has an autofix program, this will usually make it much clearer. We recently purchased a Sony DSC-H50 that is a 9.1 mp digital camera with nightshot, with a filter the nightshot feature works even in direct sunlight and you do not get the purple color in your photo. You will still want to use your photo editing program to do the things we mentioned earlier. This same thing can be done with your camcorder by using a filter, you will need to determine the size filter size and experiment with different  ones, there are filters from 720nm to over 1000nm. You must determine which one will work best for your camcorder in direct sunlight. We have found that R-72 seems to work best for still cameras.

Live Near Gettysburg? You Can Help Us

I am sure by now you have seen Richard Liebecks photo he took on Triangular Field, the photo has generated over 40,000 hits. Some people claim the photo shows a tree or shrub, if you live in the Gettysburg area and would like to volunteer to email us some comparison photo's, we would love to see them. Then we can lay this dispute to rest.

Thanks!
